Providing a particular geographic location help Google determine how your site appears in search results. So, if your site has a generic top-level domain, such as .com or .org, or any of the domains listed below and if your target audience is in a particular geographic location, then you can set target location in Google Webmaster Tools to provide information that will help Google to show your site in geographic location based search queries.

- .com
- .coop

- .jobs
- .mil
- .mobi
- .museum
- .name
- .net
- .org
- .pro
- .tel
- .travel
Note: If your site is in some different language like french, then don’t set any location as this tool handles geographic data, not language data.
To Set a Geographic Location
1) Sign in to Google Webmaster Tools with your Gmail account
2) Go to Webmasters Tool home page, then click the site you want.
3) Click the gear icon
4) Click on Site Settings
5) Select “Target users in:” and select your target geographic area, then click on save
