Much has changed in the world of SEO. However, certain basic principles remain the same.
For example, focus on keywords with the sole objective of improving organic rankings no longer works, but the keywords are still essential.
With so many SEO tips, it has become very difficult to determine which search engine optimization tips should be followed and what you can ignore.
Whether it’s B2B or B2C marketers, their focus is to generate as many organic leads as possible because they have they have 8.5x more likely to conversion a lead outbound.
Brian Dean did a fabulous job when creating a post featuring 200 Google ranking factors. The post went on to become famous, generating thousands of new leads from organic searches.
In this article, we will not be as detailed as Brian in his blog post. However, I want to show you the 10 must-know SEO tips to improve organic rankings and increase search traffic.
Focussing solely on these tips will drive tons of organic traffic to your blog and improve your search rankings without risking undergoing a punishment of Google.
Let’s start:
SEO Tips# 1. Remove anything that leaves your site slow.
The speed of the page is a very important factor in SEO.
At other times, you could pass hit with a site that carried slowly. I remember a time when I had to wait about 5 minutes for a famous news site carry through.
I’m sure you already saw this situation.
It is never a good experience, but it is a mortal blow today. A slow page may discourage people from buying your product.
the Strange Loop Data show that 1-second delay in page load time can generate a 7% loss in conversions.
In the minds of potential buyers, a slow site is a non-trusted site.
The speed of the page is vital, both for users and for Google. According to Econsultancy, “40% of people abandon a site that spends more than 3 seconds to load.”
As businesses become more aware of the opportunities to generate targeted leads and increase revenue by optimizing for search engines, there is a huge demand for speed.
On 9 April 2010, Google included site speed as one of big factor rating.
This means that if your pages are slow, you are fighting a revenue loss cause from the top of the organic listings, regardless of the quality of its content, or professional design of your site.
Stay free of unnecessary elements that leave your site slow. If you are a WordPress user, consider the idea to disable the plugins you may have installed and activated, but do not actually need.
Also, organize your sidebar and place only what is essential there.

SEO Tips # 2. Make external links to sites with relevant content.
According to Brian Clark, founder of Copyblogger Media, creating external links to relevant and reliable content pages is bad because it removes people from your page.
But I do not think so.
According to the Rand Fishkin, founder of Moz,
If you have read my blogs, I realize that doing external links to other sites is a habit of mine. When I write a new post, I recommend other trusted sites, where appropriate. You can not expect to receive something from others if you are not willing to give first. For example, if you are looking to have inbound links from respected blogs, one of the easiest ways to do this is to show the willingness to make external links to these blogs from your own content.
Of course, you should only link to content pages that offer tremendous value. This is a good SEO practice.
More importantly, you notify an influencer when making an external link to it, and if your post is value, it can make an external link back to you, share the post or even send it by e-mail to a huge list of email subscribers it has.
SEO Tips # 3. Write for people first & search engines later.
Lately, I have noticed that more and more bloggers and content producers are returning to the old method of SEO. If you are among them, it’s time to change your mindset.
Many people are still not cashing in on the long tail keywords, preferring, instead, try to manipulate the search engines.
This is the wrong approach.
Instead, write content to the user, people who have eyes to read and credit cards to buy your product. search crawlers are just scripts – they do not buy products.
The Copyblogger is my number one site to visit when it comes to putting readers first. It is not surprising that Brian Clark is so successful in content marketing. He came to make the Copyblogger become a multimillion-dollar digital marketing company.
All this happened because a marketer, like you, was passionate about helping people. This is what leads me to do that too – and maybe you too.
So what it means to write user first before for the search engines?
Well, it’s very simple.
Forget that Google exists when writing. Instead, create content that will help someone. This is known as SEO copywriting.
SEO Tips # 4. Motivate other trusted sites to make external links for you.
Largely, the inbound links are still the soul of the search rankings. Here are surefire ways to create high-quality inbound links to your site.
When you combine dofollow and nofollow links, you get a natural profile of links that even Google will reward.
Content marketing is all about creating content worth sharing and creates in people the need and urgency to make external links for you.
The main determining factor of success is that I invest a lot of time to create a single post or another piece of content.
When you are at the forefront of its market, to create useful content and directs it to respected blogs, you will notice that more people will make external links to you, of course.
SEO Tips # 5. Have the web analytics running from the start.
After determining your SEO goals clearly you need to find a software to record what is working and what is not.
Google Analytics, Google Search Console and other private solutions of web analytics software can help you have a sense of success.
SEO Tips # 6. Write original and relevant meta descriptions for each page.
Another very important SEO tip that most people ignore is the meta description elaborate.
The meta description is the first section that people see when Google displays your page to search users.
Typically, Google does not like duplicate content. Yes, sometimes it is necessary to quote a paragraph or sentence from another site (and use external links back to the source), but if you publish duplicate content become your way of life, you can be punished by Google.
Similarly, duplicate meta descriptions can cause problems for you. But even if you are not punished directly, you are not providing a good experience to its users.
You can not have the same meta description to a page that talks about marketing by email and on sales. There is a big difference between these issues and the need to show your meta descriptions
If you are a WordPress user, you can fix duplicate meta descriptions installing All-In-One SEO Pack or Yoast plugins.
So, in your WordPress editor, scroll to the bottom of the page and add a title tag and a unique meta description.
SEO Tips # 7. Use only URLs easy to read and consistent.
If users can not read or understand your URL, so search engines can be confusing, too.
See how are the URLs of my page:
Certainly, the above URL is long, but it is easy to be understood by both users and the search engines. No figures or characters beyond words and hyphens used.
SEO Tips # 8. Create a boost with social indicators.
Yes, social indicators are important and you need to focus on increasing its.
It is true that Google has not added social indicators as the factors of ranking algorithms, but I have seen personally that social signals impact search rankings.
Case Study Example:
Well, there are many case studies that have proven the impact of social shares, tweets and pins in the search rankings.
For example, Moz started to rank on Google with the “Guide for Beginners” after the Smashing Magazine tweeted guide.
If you want more social indicators, the rules have not changed. Here is a summary of them:
- Create useful content and worth sharing.
- Add sharing buttons to your post and leave them visible.
- Encourage people to share it to ask them to do so.
- Hold a contest on social networks to get more shares.
- Mention and direct influencers / strong users in your post and notify them.
… And much, much more.
SEO Tips # 9. Use the right words in your images.
Images are important for the optimization of search engines.
Google has dedicated a whole section of the results of its search engine for images. That should show you how much the company is concerned about images.
When users are looking for a specific image, they perform the search with what?
Keywords.
Because of this, you need to use the right keywords in the names of your images and accompanying text (like the legend). Of course, this does not mean adopt a jumble of keywords.
However, if your image is that of a “blue hat female,” do not name your image as “click here to buy hats.”
Always remember that in SEO, relevance is more important than creativity or intelligence.
SEO Tips # 10. Create and publish original content consistently to improve their ratings.
According to the Content Marketing Institute, produce original content that engages is a challenge for most marketers.
Whether you are a marketing professional B2B or B2C, you need to be disciplined regarding the production of content.
This is even more important than you might think, because of something is known as novelty factor. Original content is one of the factors that affect the score degree of novelty and therefore the search rankings for that particular page.
If you are not Brian Dean, who mastered the art of promoting content and can regularly tens of thousands of users to read a new post, the easiest way to optimize your degree of novelty is creating consistent content and regularly.
If you choose to promote your online content, then create unique blog posts and useful is not an option – it is a necessity.
